The Privacy Act 2020 governs how agencies collect, store, use, disclose and give access to personal information. Your privacy is important to us. As a property manager and in our role as agents for the landlord, we must comply with the Privacy Act 2020.
Personal information covered by the Privacy Act 2020 is any information that tells us about you. In applying for this tenancy, we are asking for the personal information necessary to assess suitability for tenancy for the property you have applied for. At Resolve, we do not ask you to apply for a property that you do not wish to rent and therefore the questions and the answers you have provided are for the final stages of your tenancy application. We leave the final decision to the owner of the property who will be privy to your personal information and also has an obligation to abide by the principles of the Privacy Act 2020.
We are asking for your consent on the application form to enable a third party whom we contract as a service provider to conduct a credit check, Ministry of Justice check and criminal record check. We have also asked for details of your referees whom we will contact to conduct a reference check.
To verify your identity, we have asked you to provide details of documents such as your passport or driver's licence together with proof of address.
You have the right to see any information we have collected about you and information we have obtained from a credit bureau. This form will be held in our records for a period of seven years.
